SUMMARY:

LSM allows you to create version of test with the help of duplicate ad archive versions. This feature is useful, when you want to modify an already existing test and the good practice is to duplicate test ad archive the old one. This way you can save all the old test and reports related to it and can therefore easily create a new one and modify it.

Some examples where you need to change test in LSM can be:

  • Changing a result template
  • Edition of existing test parameter in LSM
  • Removal of test parameter

Please follow the below steps to duplicate, archive nd modify test:

1. Duplicate a test

2. Modify the duplicated test & lock it

3. Archive the old test

Warning
Please DO NOT MODIFY the existing test, you will loose data in old reports.
It is better to duplicate the test and then edit the duplicated test, so that the old jobs are not impacted.

1. Duplicate a test

  • You can create a test in LSM add-on.
*Please see the Knowledge Base on how to create test.
  • You can use this test for the jobs, this will be version 1 for example like below.
    create test
  • If you want to modify the test to edit some result parameters then you need to duplicate the test first. You can duplicate the test by clicking on the test name and clicking on duplicate test.
    duplicate test
  • Once you duplicate the test a new copy will be created.

Note
You can give same name to the new test. Hence you can rename the duplicated test.

2. Modify the duplicated test & lock it

  • You can modify the test as you like by clicking on the test and “edit” it to modify it, for example the below image.
Tips/Hints
It is a good practice to LOCK the test once it is created or modified. This practice helps to be more compliant to regulatory bodies.
When you lock the test, nobody can modify it.
If you want to edit, you can UNLOCK test and give a reason  which is registered in the log in LSM ->ADMIN-> LOG
unlocking test

3. Archive the old test

  • Once you duplicate the test and modify the updated test you can archive the old one.
  • This way no will anymore use the version 1 test and the reports of test created by this version will be saved as they are.
  • To archive you need to open the test.
  • Click on the “Archive” test and you need to add reason you are archiving the test.
  • Once you have added the reason you can confirm it, for example the below image.
