From the Home page go to ELN add-on  add-on print from LabCollector.

A book in ELN offers a lot of flexibility than its paper counterpart which makes organizing the book in more easy way. You can create several books dedicated to individual experiments.

In research labs there can be many types cell lines that you might be working on. For example:-

  • You can create a book dedicated to experiments done in one cell line. (e.g. Book: Osteosarcoma SaOS-2 project in below image).
  • You can create different experiments in that Book that are performed for one specific cell line. For example, experiments like fluorescence staining, cell viability, or drug toxicity experiments. (e.g. SaOS-2 immunoflurescence in below images)
  • You can create pages with different protocols in each Experiment. For example for fluorescence staining experiment you can create pages with detailed protocols to perform different immunostaining procedures like staining Actin, micro-tubules, nucleus or focal adhesion, etc. (e.g. SaOS-2 immunoflurescence Focal adhesion Paxillin in below images)

ELN offers you easy options to make printing books, experiments & pages simpler. It also provides you with the a flexible option to print selective pages.

You can print the below described way from either “My books”, “My collaborations” or “All Books” tabs in ELN.

You have 4 options to print:

A) Book

B) Experiment

C) Page

D) Selective Pages

Each of them are explained below separately in detail.

A) Printing book

Book allows you to print everything from Experiments to pages.

  1. Go to “My Books”
  2. Select the book you want to print (e.g.In the below image- Osteosarcoma SaOS-2 Project)
  3. To print you can click on the “Print book” option or “Export PDF” and then print.

A new page will appear with the view to print the book.

B) Printing Experiment

Experiment allows you to print all the pages. You can also print different experiments along with its pages.

  1. Go to “My Books”
  2. Select the experiment you want to print (e.g. In the below image- Osteosarcoma SaOS-2 Project—>EXP 1: SaOS-2 Immunofluorescence Focal adhesions)
  3. Click on the “Print Experiment” option or “Export PDF” and then print.

A new page will appear with the view to print the experiment.

C) Printing Page

Pages allow you to print various protocols. A page can be longer than one page while printing, depending upon the length of the content in the page.

  1. Go to “My Books”
  2. Select the page you want to print (e.g. In the below image- Osteosarcoma SaOS-2 Project—>EXP 1: SaOS-2 Immunofluorescence Focal adhesions—>SaOS-2 Focal Adhesion)
  3. Click on the “Print Page” option or “Export PDF” and then print.

A new page will appear with the view to print the experiment.

D) Printing Selective Pages

This gives you the option to print selected pages that you wish to print from different experiments from all the books.

  1. Go to “My Books”
  2. Click on the option “Select Pages”
  3. Check box will appear in front of all pages from all the books. You can click on the pages you want to print.
  4. Go to the “options tab for printing”
