SUMMARY:

In LabCollector you can have access to preferences for each module where you can configure the default parameters. For reagents & supplies you can go to PREFERENCES -> REAGENTS&SUPPLIES and access various options.

1. Main options

  • 1. R&S categories allows you to add categories to your reagents. It can be for example powder categories, liquid reagents, etc.
  • 2. Packaging units let you define the measurements of the carton like Kg, L, gms, ml, etc. For example if you order NaCl carton meaning a bottle of 1kg NaCl powder.
  • 3. Storage allows you to either have a primary or main storage.
    *Primary: When a lab is small and has just one store room or a small storage they can utilize the primary storage option. It will be single locations without any sub-locations.
    *Main: When a lab has a bigger storage room or many storage rooms, with a lot of equipment, then they can utilize main storage option. In the Storage browser it will provide a hierarchy of Room name, Equipment inside, Drawers or racks inside equipment and boxes and position inside boxes. *Please see the knowledgebase for more information.

2. Lot Managements

  • Lot management helps you to configure the package of reagents that you purchase. For example, you can purchase a package/lot of NaCl which contain 5 bottles of NaCl (1 kg powder/bottle).
  • 1. You can add lot measurement values, like Kgs, Liters, etc
  • 2. You can choose who can remove units from reagents or destock a lot.
    • FIFO option – you can also activate the FIFO option (First In First out) for the destock action.
      In this case, if you don’t destock the oldest lot in the list or the one with the first expiring date , this alert message will appear.

  • 3. You can choose who can add units to reagents or stock a lot.

3. Risks & Safety

  • 1. You can choose who can edit risk and safety info.
  • 2. You can choose the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) revisions that you want to use.
  • 3. You can select which risks require mandatory approval from admin.
  • 4. You can choose which risk chemical lots disposal, require approval.

4. Orders

  • Here you can manage orders of reagent and supplies.
  • 1. You can add names of different budgets that you utilize for purchasing reagents & supplies.
    •  To view hidden budgets click on the pages symbol on the top right corner.
    • To hide/delete an account, check the box to the left of the account and click on Update & Save. It will automatically be removed from the list.
    • You can also upload a list of budgets using a CSV.
  • 2. You can provide access to the staff if they can access orders.
  • 3. You can choose which user levels can place orders.
  • 4. You can configure the values, which require permissions and validations of the supervisor.
  • 5. You can associate budgets to order reagents & supplies from.
  • 6. You can choose if after approval users can edit reagents.
  • 7. You choose if you want to send it to sellers.
  • 8. You choose if users can edit purchase orders.
  • 9. There are several direct selling sellers information where you can access them directly. These settings will be used to submit orders through the Purchase Orders Management.
