A chemical arrives in the lab, but the latest Safety Data Sheet is buried in a shared folder, an old email, or a vendor website. That search should not slow down your team. LabCollector introduces a new integration with GHS InfoSafe, an SDS repository and compliance service provider. The goal is to connect chemical and reagent records with easier access to the safety information directly from your LIMS.

How to retrieve and integrate SDS file to Reagents & Supplies record?
This document explains how to retrieve and integrate Safety Data Sheets (SDS) into Reagents & Supplies records within the Risk & Safety module of LabCollector. It covers three methods: automatic population via product seller references and brand data, integration with the GHSInfosafe platform, and manual file upload. Optional AI-powered autofill for risk details and safety pictograms is also described as a post-retrieval enhancement.
From a chemical record to its safety information
When a user opens a reagent or supply record in LabCollector, the related safety information should be easy to reach. The planned integration is designed to reduce time spent searching shared drives, vendor websites, and old attachments. This creates a more direct path between inventory management, SDS access, and day-to-day safety checks.
GHS InfoSafe provides an SDS repository backed by a 15-year cache library, along with services for SDS sourcing, indexing, revision updates, archiving, hosting, authoring, and translation. Combined with LabCollector’s reagent and supply management tools, the integration will help laboratories connect inventory records with the documents used to support chemical safety and compliance.
